SAFEGUARDING IN NORTHAMPTON COUNTY NETBALL
At Northamptonshire County Netball, the welfare of our players, coaches, officials, volunteers and spectators is our highest priority. Everyone has the right to enjoy netball in a safe and supportive environment and safeguarding is at the heart of how we work.
We follow the England Netball Safeguarding and Protecting Young People Policy and are committed to ensuring that all young people can participate in netball free from harm, abuse or neglect. Safeguarding is a shared responsibility and together we can create a positive, inclusive, and safe environment across our county.

Supporting Club Welfare Officers (CWOs) in meeting safeguarding standards.
Providing guidance and advice on safeguarding matters.
Ensuring clubs are compliant with England Netball safeguarding requirements, including DBS checks and safeguarding training.
Promoting safe recruitment and codes of conduct across county activity.
Escalating and reporting safeguarding concerns in line with England Netball’s procedures.

🔳 Ensure all coaches and volunteers working with young people hold a valid DBS check.
🔳 Ensure coaches and CWOs have up-to-date Safeguarding and Protecting Children training.
🔳 Make safeguarding information and contacts visible to members.
